McLean, Virginia – In response to the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis, Our Military Kids is committed to the continued support of military families. In order to best serve this incredible community, Our Military Kids will continue to accept grant applications for the children of currently-deployed National Guard and Reserves service members, as well as those of wounded veterans from any branch of service.

Additionally, the nonprofit will temporarily allow grant applications for online enrichment activities, effective immediately.

“For the first time in our 15-year history, we have decided to temporarily modify our criteria to support grants for online enrichment activities and tutoring sessions,” said Board Chairman Barry Miller. “This change will allow us to serve families who are unable to participate in activities outside the home due to social distancing. As always, our goal is to support military children by minimizing the emotional, behavioral and academic difficulties they face during a parent’s deployment or recovery.”

All the usual requirements for grant applications will still be in place, which are detailed at www.ourmilitarykids.org/apply. Grants for online enrichment activities in the form of reimbursement for credit card payments are authorized.
