The Honorable Maureen Cragin


Maureen Cragin is the Vice President for Communications for Boeing Defense, Space & Security where she is responsible for leading all communications strategy and planning. Before joining Boeing in 2002, she served as assistant secretary for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs at the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Prior to her presidential appointment, she was the director of Congressional Relations for Raytheon. From 1995 to 2001, she was director of Communications for the Committee on Armed Services in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Previously, Ms. Cragin provided consulting services to the U.S. Department of Energy and served as public affairs advisor and spokesperson for the Women’s Bureau and Glass Ceiling Commission at the U.S. Department of Labor for two years. She also served as director of Volunteer Administration at the 1992 Republican National Convention in Houston, Texas.

Ms. Cragin received a bachelor’s degree from the United States Naval Academy in 1985. She served seven years on active duty and continued serving as a public affairs officer in the U.S. Naval Reserve. She holds the rank of captain and is a member of the Reserve Officers Association, the Naval Reserve Association and the Disabled American Veterans.
